On May 23, 2023 Inland Action met with Carrie Schindler, Deputy Executive Director of the San Bernardino County Transportation Agency. Ms. Schindler has overseen SBCTA’s rail projects, most recently focusing on the launch of passenger rail service between San Bernardino and Redlands. Known as Arrow, service is aboard a state-of-the art DMU train powered by lower-emission diesel engines, offering a quieter and more energy efficient ride. ZMU trains, with zero emissions, will be in use in the not distant future. Metrolink operates Arrow and efforts are underway to widely market the service and increase ridership.
