Dear Governor Newsom,
I am writing on behalf of the members of Inland Action to offer our strong support of SB 16 (Roth). Inland Action is located in the Inland Empire, and we have the greatest need for additional judgeships, as determined by workload, of any county in the state. This ongoing problem unduly impacts our citizens, in particular those who live at great distances in our desert regions.
Our County has a robust self-help program at our courts with kiosks available for easy access to the system. Our courts are efficient and work hard to make it easier for cases to be brought forward. But without a full complement of judges, the public is not served at the level that should be expected.
We appreciate Senator Roth’s ongoing support of our courts and the critical need for additional budgetary support for more judges. We know that the Chief Justice sees this need, as well, and are pleased that she is urged substantially more positions state-wide, which is reflected in SB 16.
