On March 21, 2023 Inland Action met with Michael Flad, Assistant City Manager of the City of Jurupa Valley. Mr. Flad served for five years on the California Strategic Growth Council. The mission of the Council is to coordinate and work collaboratively with public agencies, communities, and stakeholders to achieve sustainability, equity, economic prosperity, and quality of life for all Californians. They have a robust grant program to advance their mission.The Council is a cabinet level committee that is tasked with coordinating the activities of state agencies. The City of Ontario received a grant from the Council and more cities in the region would benefit from seeking such grants.
