On October 3, 2023 members of Inland Action met with former Redland Police Chief Jim Bueermann to hear about the potential offered by GRMS two-way radios in assisting citizens during a disaster. These radios offer clear, effective communication among first responders and community members when disaster hits. The risk of earthquake, wildfire, snow emergencies: all offer examples of when this system would be a critical tool. The use of GRMS would be of immeasurable value to our region. Chief Bueermann is advocating for this system with elected officials and is encouraging citizens to equip themselves and their family members with these cost effective radios.
