June 10, 2025: Inland Action met with Stephanie Hastings-Miranda – Founder and Editor of Community Forward Redlands (digital news platform). Since its launch, the publication has grown to reach more than 20,000 monthly readers. The presentation included the importance of good storytelling including the depth of the story, relevance, and intrigue. A strong digital media partnership entails – (1) sharing your news, (2) thought leadership including op eds and short articles from member CEOs that connect to current news, and (3) sponsored content.
June 17, 2025: Inland Action met with Riley Peake, GIS Content Engineering Team Lead and Patricha Williams-Brown, Quality Assurance and Control – Esri StoryMap team. Our presenters shared the power of maps and telling stories via geo visualization. Several key points included accessing an overview at ARCgis.com; accessing the Powerofwhere.com for animated, premade maps; and exploring story.maps.arcgis.com (a free account can be created.)
June 24, 2025: Inland Action met with John Gillison, Rancho Cucamonga City Manager and Elisa Cox, Assistant City Manager. The organization met offsite at the Rancho Cucamonga Goldy S Lewis Community Center. The presentation focused on the future Cucamonga Station in preparation for high-speed rail to enter this region. Brightline West will provide all-electric trains in a protected corridor of I-15 with a 218-mile trip from RC to Las Vegas with additional stations in Hesperia and Apple Valley. With the growth in the high desert, transportation solutions are needed.
