On July 16, 2024 members of Inland Action met with Assembly Member Greg Wallis, who represents the 47th Assembly District. This District stretches from Redlands, Highland and Yucaipa to the entire Morongo Basin and the Palms Springs area. Wallis was elected in 2022 and in his first year in office, he immediately joined the Problem Solvers Caucus, dedicated to putting the public good over partisan politics. This Caucus has doubled in the last year and continues to grow. There are currently 22 members (from both parties) out of the 120 members of the legislature. WE applaud bipartisan work in Sacramento.
Assemblyman Wallis believes that California can do a better job preparing young people for careers and college, he promotes common sense public safety policy that supports law enforcement, and focuses on providing core government services like water storage and energy reliability without higher costs.
Although many in Sacramento believe “one size fits all” in regards to transportation issues; the Assembly Member believes that this could not be further from the truth. Riverside and San Bernardino Counties are very different with unique challenges not found in coastal communities. His constituents look forward to rail service, but automobiles will be needed for the foreseeable future, in particular in our more rural communities. Inland Action applauds Assemblyman Wallis in this effort.
