May 5, 2021- 2021 Targeted Airshed Grant Program Request for Applications

EPA released its solicitation for applications from eligible entities to compete for financial assistance through the Targeted Airshed Grant Program. This program will assist local, state, and/or tribal air pollution control agencies to conduct emission reduction activities to reduce air pollution in nonattainment areas that EPA determines are the top five most polluted areas relative to ozone, annual average fine particulate matter (PM2.5), or 24-hour PM2.5 National Ambient Air Quality Standards.

The full announcement is available here: https://www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/2021-05/documents/fy21-tag-rfa-05-04-21.pdf. The list of eligible nonattainment areas can be found on page 2.

The total estimated funding for this competitive opportunity is approximately $59,000,000. EPA anticipates awarding approximately 8 – 13 assistance agreements from this announcement, subject to availability of funds, the quality of applications received, and other applicable considerations.

EPA will host one information session about this funding opportunity via webinar on May 26, 2021. A link to the webinar and call-in details are available at https://www.epa.gov/grants/2021-targeted-airshed-grant-program.
