Re: City of Rancho Cucamonga Community Project Fund Request: Regina Cultural Enrichment and Workforce Training Center
Dear Congressman Aguilar:
Inland Action is pleased to offer support for the FYE 2026 Community Project Fund application for the City of Rancho Cucamonga’s application to fund National Community Renaissance (“National CORE’s”) Regina Cultural Enrichment and Workforce Training Center. National CORE’s revitalization and planned adaptive reuse of the Joseph Filippi Winery historically known as the Regina/Ellena Brothers Winery (the site), a designated local historical landmark in Rancho Cucamonga, will provide classrooms and expand the workforce training programs offered by its CORE Academy.
National Community Renaissance (“National CORE”) is acquiring J. Filippi Vintage Co., the current lessee of the site. The revitalization of the site will not only provide workforce training opportunities that will elevate economic mobility for all residents in the areas of property management and real estate related fields, technical training and hospitality, but will sustainably preserve its historic legacy. The property improvements require critical repairs including structural stabilization and utilities and system upgrades for the safety of students attending CORE Academy courses.
The renovation will incorporate careful preservation and adaptive reuse of significant features enhancing the educational and cultural value of the of the site. These renovations will also bring the site up to date and afford National CORE a facility to continue grow its workforce development programs under the CORE Academy initiative – and to meet the growing workforce needs of the region as it develops into a premier destination for entertainment & tourism.
In closing, I request that the planned Regina Cultural Enrichment and Workforce Training Center receive full consideration for a CPF for Fiscal Year 2026. The revitalization of the site will provide a community-focused venue that stimulates tourism and the local economy, provide workforce training opportunities, and cultural & community enrichment for the entire Inland Empire.
Sincerely,
Julie Michaels
