Re: Support for A2406009
Dear Commissioner Baker,
On behalf of Inland Action, I would like to express our full support for the Speedway Commerce Center project in Fontana. This project will not only allow for the continued existence of a nationally recognized Speedway but also enhance the surrounding area, taking advantage of its ideal location to develop additional high-cube logistics and e-commerce centers.
The location, with proximity to the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, adjacency to freeway and railway systems, as well as access to a workforce of the fastest growing metropolitan area in the state is ideal for a development like the Speedway Commerce Center. As well as bringing jobs and enhanced business amenities to the region, this project will provide surrounding neighborhoods with essential upgrades to water and sewer infrastructure and create additional open space, enhancements for pedestrian safety and public transportation usage, and multi-use path and trail connections.
Inland Action is a non-profit, non-partisan corporation of public-spirited leaders who have joined together to be catalysts for the economic well-being of the Inland Empire region of California since 1962.
We understand that the San Bernardino Avenue Improvements, which includes two existing at-grade rail crossings, are ready for Public Utilities Commission approval. As such, in recognition of the value of this project for the region, we would like to see this project move forward without delay and join the many voices in support of this project’s prompt approval by the Public Utilities Commission.
