Dear Senator Feinstein:
This letter is to convey Inland Action’s support for your legislation to authorize the use of passenger facility charges collected at Ontario International Airport to be used for payment to Los Angeles World Airport as part of the agreement to transfer the airport to local control. As you well know, Inland Action is a non-profit organization of business and community leaders dedicated to the economic and community betterment of the Southern California region.
- Inland Action has been a long time supporter of returning Ontario International Airport to local control. This legislation will allow for payment of approximately $50m from Ontario International Airport Authority to Los Angeles World Airport as part of the estimated $249m required to make the transfer. Authority to use passenger facility charges for this purpose is a critical element of the agreement which will make the transfer possible.
- There is broad support for this legislation ranging from both Ontario International Airport Authority and Los Angeles World Airports to business and community organizations. Passage of this legislation is essential to returning quality airline services to the inland region of Southern California.
