The Emeritus Membership policy was discussed and revised.
M/S/P: The Emeritus Member Policy was approved as discussed.
Dates for the annual Washington, D.C. advocacy trip were discussed. Those present believe the month of March remains a good time for this trip. Inland Action will try to avoid times when advocacy trips by large groups such as the League of Cities will take place. Staff and Members were asked to review dates of other advocacy groups.
A more useful calendar on the Inland Action web site is desired. Discussion of utilizing Google Calendar and List Share were discussed. IT assessment and assistance will be provided by Loma Linda University.
K-12 education issues are critical, and Inland Action has few members focused in this arena. Discussions ensued regarding advocacy in Washington and potential membership of a K-12 professional. The Committee was encouraged to give further thought and make suggestions on this issue.
Inland Action plans to hold a recognition reception for California State University Trustee, Lou Monville who serves as their Chairman, and University of California Regent Bruce Varner who serves as their Chairman. The recognition reception may also include others from the Inland Empire who serve on State Boards and Commissions. The event will be scheduled for mid to late January and invitees will include State and local electeds. Paul Shimoff has offered to host the event at his home.
The Committee scheduled the next Executive Committee meeting for December 2, 2014. There will not be an Inland Action meeting on December 30, 2014, due to the holiday season.
The meeting adjourned at 8:30 a.m.
