San Bernardino Associated Governments is considering including toll lanes in the Inland Empire to relieve congestion. Inland Action is aware of the critical nature of the studies currently being completed for improvements to I-10 and I-15. The Inland Action Transportation Committee has been working on a strategy to educate and express support of toll lanes. They have planned an event to inform and engage business and community leaders about the proposed toll lane options for the freeway system. The event will focus on education and an open exchange of ideas.
The key note speaker will be Jim Wolfe, from the Florida Department of Transportation. Mr. Wolfe will share his experiences with the successful toll roads in Florida where initially the community and elected officials were heavily opposed. Various activities focusing on educating business are planned and include a panel of diverse speakers moderated by Fran Inman, California Transportation Commission. The event which includes lunch will be held at California State University, San Bernardino on November 6, 2013 from noon to 2:30p.m. The cost will be $35.00 per person.
