Minutes 

Present:  Dimitrios Alexiou, Don Averill, Deborah Barmack, Carole Beswick, Tom Brickley, Kristy Hennessey, Mark Kaenel, Lowell King, Ed Lasak, Bill Lemann, Temetry Lindsey, Charlie Ng, Tom Nightingale, Steve PonTell, Bev Powell, Kristine Scott, Larry Sharp, Paul Shimoff, Carlos Valdez, Steve von Rajcs, Phil Waller, A.J. Wilson and Ray Wolfe.  

Guests: Mayor Pat Morris and Jim Morris 

Announcements:  1) The Appointment Secretary Mona Pasquil is unable to meet with us but has arranged for Patrick Henning her Chief Deputy Director to fill in for her.  As a reminder, the meeting will take place at 2:30 p.m. on November 7, 2012 at the Inland Valley Development Agency located at 1601 E. Third St., San Bernardino.  2) The UCLA Transportation summit focused on the challenges of infrastructure financing.  3) The Monday Morning Group will be sending out invitations for a morning event to be held on December 5, 2012 honoring Joe Tavaglione. Additionally, a reception for the CTC will be held that evening at the Mission Inn.  4) The tentative dates for the Washington, D.C. trip are March 12-14, 2013.  

Larry Sharp, Mayor Morris and Jim Morris summarized the City Council meeting held on November 5, 2012.  The Council voted 4-3 in favor of allowing the County Sheriff’s Department to submit a proposal to provide police services for the City of San Bernardino.  Mayor Morris met with the bankruptcy judge who informed him that the City must submit a pre-pendency plan by the first week of December.   Critical city council meetings are November 19th and November 26th.

Committees were encouraged to meet on their own as there was not enough time left in the meeting to do so.  The closed meeting on December 4, 2012 will focus committee work and our legislative platform.
