Minutes
Present: Dimitrios Alexiou, Carole Beswick, Tom Brickley, Ken Coate, Bill Easley, Ray Gonzalez, Dick Hart, Mark Kaenel, Ed Lasak, John Mirau, Lou Monville, Charlie Ng, Kristine Scott, Larry Sharp and Steve von Rajcs.
Announcements: 1) Lt. Governor Gavin Newson’s presentation of his economic agenda was well received at the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce gathering on October 25, 2011. He expressed a well-rounded business understanding and provided good solutions that will need support in the future. 2) A majority of the Board Members present voted to extend an invitation of membership to Best, Best & Krieger.

The San Bernardino Community College District is soliciting volunteers from the business community to serve on a bond oversight committee. Charlie Ng summarized the nominee’s qualifications and responsibilities. Any interested individuals should contact Charlie Ng at chng@sbccd.cc.ca.us for more information.
Ed Lasak presented and summarized the 2010 financial report compiled by the accounting firm of Powell and Spafford. The 2010 tax returns were presented and approved by the Board members present.
Current membership, meeting attendance (which has been low) and potential new members were discussed.
Federal legislative issues should be reviewed by the Committee Chairpersons and communicated to their respective Committees. The meeting scheduled for December 6, 2011 will be dedicated to Committee work for those issues. The tentative dates for the annual trip to Washington, D.C. are March 3-7, 2012. Trip participants may be asked to pay for the optional hotel stay on Saturday depending on budgetary restraints.
An Inland Action Strategic Planning Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, January 14, 2012. John Mirau will serve as the facilitator at this ½ day morning meeting. The exact times and location will be announced soon.
A discussion ensued regarding the San Bernardino School Board. Those interested in election reform of the current board should contact John Mirau.
