Minutes

Present: Deborah Barmack, Carole Beswick, Tom Brickley, Ken Coate, Jill Eaton, Dick Hart, Scott Hofferber, Matthew Isaac, Mark Kaenel, Bill Lemann, John Mirau, John Prentice, Brian Reider, Frank Schnetz, Larry Sharp, Paul Shimoff, Steve von Rajcs, Phil Waller and Ray Wolfe. 

 

Announcements1) John Mirau made the second announcement of proposed member Inland Leader Charter School.  The founder and CEO Mike Gordon would serve as the member and Jay Jimenez, Principal would serve as the alternate.  Their web site is http://www.inlandleaders.com/  2) In accordance with discussions at our Inland Action meetings; we will now be sending copies of our emailed invoices to both the member and a representative of the member’s accounting staff.  Please provide the e-mail address for the individual in your organization who should receive a copy of the invoice to our office.  The purpose of this change is to assist members in processing payments and to facilitate a timely response.

The date for the recognition reception for California State University Trustee, Lou Monville, who serves as their Chairman, and University of California Regent Bruce Varner, who serves as their Chairman will be held on January 15th tentatively from 5:30p.m. to 7:30p.m.  The event will be held at the home of member Paul Shimoff.  In addition to inviting the legislative delegation, other invitees were discussed.

 

The annual California Transportation Commission (CTC) reception will be held on December 10, 2014 in Riverside.  The Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) has asked Inland Action to co-sponsor with a $250.00 contribution.  Discussion ensued.

M/S/P: Inland Action will contribute $250.00 towards the CTC reception to be held on December 10, 2014.

 

The group discussed options to host electeds while in Washington, D.C.  Suggestions included holding a reception with the electeds rather than a dinner, using a venue that is in close proximity to the Capitol and requesting ideas/suggestions from the lobbyist groups with whom we have met.

 

A holiday open house gathering will take place at the home of Carole Beswick on December 18, 2014.  Details will follow soon.

 

Our current membership is 48.  Bank of America plans to re-engage in January 2015.  Larry Sharp has reached out to the Arrowhead Credit Union for possible membership.

 

Updates on current local projects were given by Ken Coate, San Bernardino Community College District Citizens Bond Oversight Committee, Dick Hart, Loma Linda University and Frank Schnetz, Vanir Development.
