Present: Pete Aguilar, Dimitrios Alexiou, Don Averill, Deborah Barmack, Carole Beswick, Ann Bryan, Mike Burrows, Ken Coate, Donna Davis, Dick Hart, Ed Lasak, Neil Macready, John Mirau, Mike Page, John Prentice, Kristine Scott, Larry Sharp, Paul Shimoff, Christina Bivona-Tellez, Carlos Valdez and Phil Waller.
Guests: Jim Morris and Mayor Pat Morris.
Announcements: 1) Appreciation was expressed to all those who facilitated Inland Action getting key appointments in Sacramento.
M/S/P: Minutes of the May 17, 2011 meeting
The Redistricting Ad Hoc Committee has completed and submitted redistricting maps. The committee stated that their goals were to maximize the legislative seats in the Inland Empire. The maps were summarized and discussed. The Committee reported that after compliance with many rules and guidelines the maps submitted increase the Inland Empire representation.
Discussion ensued regarding redistricting consensus building and communications. All members will have access to the letter and maps that were sent to the Commission in addition to a few basic bullet points written by the Ad Hoc Committee to aid in the general understanding of the redistricting changes submitted.
There will be a conference call today with the Monday Morning Group regarding redistricting. The Ad Hoc Committee will meet again at Esri on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 8 a.m.
