Appreciation was expressed to the Inland Action staff for organization, logistics and scheduling during the recent Sacramento trip. Special thanks were expressed to Ken Coate who made luncheon arrangements for both days and scheduled former Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes, now a lobbyist, as our speaker on Tuesday.  Committees were well prepared and the group was able to secure all of the meetings that had been requested, in addition to a meeting with Assembly Speaker Rendon.  This year the reception/dinner at Lucca restaurant on Monday evening was memorable with 6 of our legislators attending.

The group discussed individual appointments and feedback from meetings.

Senator Roth has indicated he is working on a new bill that could address some CEQA concerns and would like to meet with Inland Action in the near future to explain and discuss.

Contact will be made with Senator Connie Leyva regarding her support and possible co-sponsorship of AB 1523 (Obernolte) which will authorize the use of design build process for construction of the Mount Vernon Viaduct in San Bernardino, California. The bill is expected to be in the Senate in July.

Meeting adjourned at 8:30 a.m.
