M/S/P: Minutes of the February 28, 2012 meeting
Announcements: 1) There will be a Inland Empire Economic Forum held on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 8 a.m. to noon at the University of Redlands Orton Center. The information from this and other regional forums in the state will be presented to the legislature and the Governor at an Economic Summit to be held on May 11 in San Jose. There is no cost to attend this forum. Please Rsvp to Lisa Purcell-Rorick at Lpurcell-rorick@ieep.com or (909) 382-6000. 2) Individuals that acted as scribes for the meetings in Washington, D.C. are asked to send their notes to Carole as soon as possible in order for her to personalize the thank you notes to those that met with us.

BNSF has offered Inland Action the use of their business rail cars to hold an event of our choosing. The rail cars will be parked at the Santa Fe depot in San Bernardino and remain stationary for the event. The is room for up to 90 guests. Discussion regarding the event ensued.
The event will be a reception format held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 5p.m. to 7p.m. The reception will be by invitation. The guest list will include Inland Action members and their spouses/guests as well as IEEP, Monday Morning Group, elected officials in our region and candidates for state and federal offices. Invitations will be sent out immediately.
M/S/P-A letter of support to secure federal TIGER IV grant funding to improve 3.25 miles of 5th St. and Del Rosa Dr. in Highland will be sent to Secretary Ray Lahood.
Comments and perceptions were shared about this year’s trip to Washington, D.C.
The 2013 trip will likely be scheduled later in the year as it is an election year.
