Announcements: 1) The proposed Air Quality Management Plan (AQMP) is scheduled for approval in October. The plan will have a great impact on private enterprise and Inland Action will track its progression. 2) A new member breakfast was held on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Best Best & Krieger, Ontario sponsored by Peter Barmack. Newer members in attendance were: San Bernardino Associated Governments-Ray Wolfe, San Bernardino Community College District-Charlie Ng, Union Pacific Railroad-Lupe Valdez and Watson Land Company-Jennifer Johnson. Later today a luncheon, hosted by Paul Shimoff is planned for the following newer members: ESRI, Inland Behavioral & Health Services, Inland Valley Development Agency & National Community CORE Renaissance.

Membership
People’s Care represented by Mike Kaiser has resigned membership.
Time Warner Cable has requested that Kristy Hennessey, VP of Government Relations replace Peter Hidalgo as their Board representative.
M/S/P: Time Warner Cable will now be represented by Kristy Hennessey.
Western States Petroleum Association (WSPA) was proposed as a potential member. Patty Senecal, Manager-Southern California Region would serve as their representative. Discussion ensued. WSPA will be brought to the full membership for consideration at the next meeting.
City of San Bernardino
Many groups are meeting and discussing the future of the city and the bankruptcy process. Inland Action will be cautious and mindful to remain totally independent from the politics of San Bernardino. A meeting is planned with Dr. RaphaelSonenshein, an expert in city charters, for Wednesday, August 8 at noon at Majestic Realty, 13191 Crossroads Parkway North, City of Industry. Any change or elimination of the existing city charter will need to move slowly and include a great deal of open communication with the community to gain public understanding and support.
Further education is needed to clarify the structural debt vs cash flow. Discussion ensued regarding the actual cost of bankruptcy which would include attorney’s fees and restoration of reserve funds.
The committee working on this issue will continue to meet during the month of August.
Meeting with Supervisor Gonzales
Members met with Supervisor Gonzales last week. She expressed urgent concerns regarding the city of San Bernardino. Those that met with her are encouraged continue communications with both her and her Chief of Staff Dan Flores.
Inland Action Anniversary
Inland Action will mark its 50th anniversary on October16th this year. A reception will be planned for the evening of Thursday, October 18th. The event will be held at the San Bernardino International Airport in one of the hangers. Sponsorship will be sought. Further information will be shared as plans continue.
