Minutes
Present: Carole Beswick, Deborah Barmack, Peter Barmack, Ken Coate, Kevin Dyerly, Louis Goodwin, Scott Hofferber, Mark Kaenel, Lowell King, Dan Murphy, Kristine Scott, Paul Shimoff, and Ray Wolfe.
Announcements: 1) The SCAQMD has a very broad emission reduction project grant. Projects selected will be funded by one or more SCAQMD Special Revenue Funds. A summary of possible projects is included in the Inland Action Events & Correspondence folder. 2) Riverside City Manager, John Russo has reached out to Inland Empire leaders to coordinate and be present during the upcoming Gubernatorial race. Engagement at the candidate’s events would include specific questions regarding funding disparity in the IE. 3) The response for the Sacramento advocacy trip has been substantial with 21 participants arriving on the optional Monday (last year we had 13). 4) The Monday Morning Group is currently in Sacramento. Staff will request information on their issues to coordinate like priorities.

Membership status was reviewed by Staff. The current membership is now at 56 with 8 of those members public agencies. The group will continue to focus on business entities as members.

The group had a discussion regarding a reception in the West End. Lucy Jones, seismologist will be asked to speak about the impacts of earthquakes on businesses, schools, medical facilities etc. The event will be scheduled in June and the Inland Empire caucus will be invited.
A tour of the Delta suggested by Patti Arlt, Metropolitan Water District was discussed. The one-day tour will tentatively be planned for September.
SB227 Personal income taxes: credits: California Excellence Fund was discussed. Scott Hofferber will send to IA staff summaries and talking points about the bill.
Committee chairs were asked to contact committee members to encourage attendance and preparedness at next week’s meeting where time for committee work has been set aside.
Kristine Scott requested Mentors for new members.
