Announcements: 1) Appointment requests for Washington, D.C. are needed as soon as possible. 2) The group dinner in Washington, D.C. will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013. 3) Efforts to create a new non-profit transportation advocacy group for the Inland Empire will be the topic of the Jan. 22 Randall Lewis Seminar Series. Tom Brickley introduced Wendy McCammack, San Bernardino City Councilmember.
Ms. McCammack discussed the pendency plan submitted to the bankruptcy court for the City of San Bernardino.
Although the City has already cut and adjusted numerous areas to streamline and increase efficiency, more reductions are needed. Ms McCammack stated that the City needs a 30% reduction from all bargaining units. Currently both the City’s fire and police are in negotiations with the Federal Bankruptcy Court appointed mediator.
Also discussed were contract services and revenue strategies.
