Staff is working with a new e-mail system (Wild Apricot) as the current server through Imagine Systems is out of date and being discontinued.

The financials presented at the Executive Committee show the group is ahead of the budget. Appreciation was expressed to the staff for keeping expenses at a minimum.

The Nominating Committee has recommended the following slate of officers for full Board approval at the Annual Meeting on January 17, 2017:

Chair – Kristine Scott, The Gas Company 1st Vice Chair -Louis Goodwin, Wells Fargo Bank

2nd Vice Chair-Lowell King, Goodwill of Southern California

Secretary-Ken Coate, Inland Surety/Hub International

Treasurer-Scott Hofferber, Farmdale Creamery

The group was reminded that per the By-laws the 1st Vice Chair oversees the Inland Action Committees.  The group discussed the importance of committee work and reiterated that all members/alternates should be encouraged to participate as committee members.  It is not only important for the group but is informative and has value to the individuals.

The draft 2017 calendar was discussed. Some Inland Action meetings will be held in the West End  in 2017.  The proposed meetings would encourage participation by West End businesses.  Inland Action’s West End Committee has suggested bi-monthly meetings.  The group discussed the need for scheduling dynamic speakers to get maximum attendance for these meetings.  Possible speakers were discussed.    All Inland Action members will be asked to commit to this initiative and support such meetings.

The Washington, D.C. trip will likely occur in March. The dates will be set in January when the Congressional calendar is set.

Attendance of a member/alternate is always welcomed.  Attendance is not a requirement of membership but should be encouraged.  A group discussion ensued.

  • Conduct an anonymous member survey
  • Encourage members to bring guests
  • Communicate attendance expectations to both new and existing members
  • Encourage members who do not attend to assign an Alternate, should they not have one in place

Meeting was adjourned at 8:30 a.m.
