Inland Action staff presented a draft process for adoption of legislative positions. Discussion ensued and wording clarification in some areas is needed. The group discussed quorum requirements. Staff will revise and return with recommendations for the membership.
2018 Advocacy trip dates were discussed and were confirmed as March 13 (Sacramento) and May 20-23 (Washington, D.C.). Information sharing with the Monday Morning Group has worked well in the past and Committees were encouraged to reach out for coordination of like issues. Inland Action will also contact IEEP to better present a regional perspective. Committee work needs to begin as soon as possible. Congressman Aguilar’s staff has alerted us that requests for funding must be made by the end of February. A list of Committee membership will be e-mailed to the Committee Chairs.
While in D.C., Mark Kaenel will coordinate an outing on Sunday, May 20 for those who would like to see the Dodgers play the Nationals.
Inland Action will work towards scheduling a joint meeting with the Monday Morning Group. As the last joint meeting was hosted by them, it is hoped they will be receptive to us hosting in our new meeting location.
Periodic meetings with County Supervisors was discussed and will be pursued.
