Minutes 

Present:  Don Averill, Deborah Barmack, Carole Beswick, Tom Brickley, Erin Brinker, Ken Coate, Bill Easley, Richard Hart, Lowell King, Temetry Lindsey, John Mirau, Tomas Morales, Charlie Ng, Tom Nightingale, John Prentice, Kristine Scott, Larry Sharp, Paul Shimoff, Steve vonRajcs, Phil Waller, A.J. Wilson and Ray Wolfe.

Announcements:  1) Inland Action has been asked to join as a signatory urging President Obama to assign Federal mediators to resolve the strike at the ports of Long beach and Los Angeles.  2) Mobility 21 is finalizing their legislative platform.  They will focus on efficiency within governmental agencies, long-term options for financing local and federal transportation, and goods movement. 3) Inland Action will schedule a small gathering honoring Congressman Jerry Lewis.  Further information will be distributed soon.  4) Congressman Calvert’s office will be contacted regarding appointments in Washington, D.C.  IA members were asked to leverage relationships to assist in scheduling and obtaining appointments in DC. 5) The annual trip to Washington, D.C. is planned for March 17-21, 2013.  Attendees should plan on traveling on Sunday, March 17, 2013.  Meetings with agencies and staff will be planned for Monday and meetings with legislators will be scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Flight information and the reservation form will be distributed today.  Members are encouraged to book their own flight for their convenience. 6) Joe Tavaglione’s term as CTC expires in February.  He is planning on reapplying for the position.   

M/S/P: A letter of support for Joe Tavaglione’s re-appointment to the CTC will be sent.

M/S/P: Inland Action will join as a signoatory support the letter to President urging President Obamato assign Federal mediators to resolve the strike at the ports of Long beach and Los Angeles.  

Committees were asked to break into their respective groups to discuss federal issues.
