March 31, 2020 Revised Agenda Virtual Meeting via ZOOM-County Supervisor Janice Rutherford

Guidelines for Inland Action Zoom Meetings

  • ·       For the benefit of our speaker, please use video sign-in with computer audio. Being able to see you will give the speaker an accurate understanding of who is in the meeting and will be particularly helpful during Q & A.
  • ·       If at all possible, use a computer or an iPad for connecting. This gives us your image and name on the screen. If you use a phone, we see only your phone number.
  • ·       In the upper right-hand corner is an option to have a gallery screen view. This will put all participants on one screen.
  • ·       Please mute your audio until the Q and A portion of the meeting, then use the “raised hand” function to be recognized. You will find the raised hand in the bottom toolbar in the participants link. Be sure to “lower” your hand after you’ve spoken. You may have to hover your cursor over the bottom of the screen to see this bar.
  • ·       We highly recommend that you login well before the meeting start time to assure that you can successfully join the meeting. If you DO have an issue, text Sue 909.363.6411 and she can resend the link for the meeting. Don’t text Carole as she will be managing the meeting.
  • ·       This is new to us, so be patient if we have any bugs. We’re learning on the fly (one of us did a Zoom webinar that she likened to “drinking from a firehose.)

Supervisor Rutherford has asked that we share this information regarding COVID-19 small business loans:

Zoom Board Meeting – County Supervisor Janice Rutherford

Agenda

Presiding: Louis Goodwin

  1. Announcements
  2. Approve Minutes of March 3, 2020
  3. Report from Inland Action Executive Board Meetings – Louis Goodwin
    1. Inland Action meetings during the stay-at-home order will continue using Zoom at varied dates and times to monitor impacts on our region.
    2. Approval for Inland Action to join the coalition action to support a pause in the California Air Resources Board’s development of the Transport Refrigeration Unit Regulation, as requested by the California Truckers Association. The regulatory language was first released on March 12, 2020, for a two-week comment period.  This pause will allow the companies affected by the proposed regulation to focus on ensuring the nation‘s supply chain provides essential goods like food, beverages and medicine to the residents of the state.
    3. On the recommendation of the Inland Action Environmental Committee, approve support of SB 1352 (Hueso), requiring California natural gas utilities to procure at least 20% of gas for residential and small- to medium-sized businesses from renewable sources. This bill addresses an enormous emissions reduction opportunity through biomethane procurement to capture and put gases to use that would normally vent into the atmosphere.
    4. Supervisor Janice Rutherford – COVID-19 impact on San Bernardino County, the local economy, and our communities.
