This panel will speak about homelessness in San Bernardino from policy, national, and local perspectives. Supervisor Josie Gonzales showed early concern about homeless issues facing this county and took a leadership role in integrating services and initiatives to address homelessness here. Philip Mangano heads the American Roundtable to Abolish Homelessness, dedicated to ending the human tragedy of homelessness in our country. The Roundtable works with researchers, innovators, and practitioners to identify what’s working to end homelessness in local communities. Tom Hernandez is the Homeless Services Officer for the County of San Bernardino and works with the San Bernardino County Homeless Partnership. Formed in 2007, the Partnership consists of community and faith-based organizations, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, private industry, and federal, state, and local governments, created to promote a strong collaboration between agencies to address homeless issues.
